Are you the type with enough money to have a home theater system with 11 speakers and a top of the line reciever? Well, great news for you! The first blu-ray to be encoded with Dolby Atmos is Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Yes, Trans4mers can now be heard in all of its glorious chaos throughout your expensive home theater that has speakers in the floor and ceiling.
If you haven’t been keeping up with the technology, Dolby Atmos is the latest of Dolby’s theater sound systems that includes up to 24 speaker channels throughout the theater. Dolby claims that Atmos treats all of the sound as an object and places it in the correct channel based on your individual theater setup. So, if you have 16 channels of sound, it will calculate which speakers to put the sound of a crying baby that is in the back left of the area.
Which is really cool because it allows you to have completely different speaker setups if you have the money for it that are customized to your home theater.
So you too can watch Trans4mers in the highest fidelity.
Transformers: Age of Extinction will be released on blu-ray on September 30th. Just over 3 months after it hit theaters.
