This week brings the opportunity to see the stink palm in the highest resolution yet available for home video, but more importantly it brings two hard-to-see early-2000s classics in HD for the first time, Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s Millennium Mambo and Claire Denis’s grody Trouble Every Day. There’s also a career-spanning (but not comprehensive) Pier Paolo Pasolini box set out from Criterion, a confusingly-themed Arrow box set including two Stuart Gordon movies, and a non-limited edition of Fun City’s Blu-Ray of Morvern Callar, complete with terrible new cover art.
