Forget everything else (and there’s a lot else), this is the week of two highly important Blu-Ray rescues. One is Paul Flaherty’s Clifford, one of the most wonderful works of evil cinema has to offer. The other is Noah Baumbach’s Highball, one of the funniest movies Baumbach has made in spite of it looking like shit and clearly not having been properly finished. It’s possible Baumbach spent as much as $150 million making his White Noise adaptation, but Highball looks like it cost $15 and it still has Carlos Jacott singing “Beautiful Dreamer” to show for itself.
