I’m dutybound to lead with the Soderbergh release, even though it’s a pretty unnecessary one. The Underneath, best-known as the movie that Soderbergh himself wouldn’t piss on if it was on fire, is now getting a standalone Blu-Ray from Kino, though it’s already available in the same HD quality on the Criterion of King of the Hill, and Kino doesn’t carry over the now famously pissy Soderbergh interview about it (though they do offer a scholarly commentary as a substitute). Other than that, we have one of the key texts in the development of cinematic language as we understand it (Man with a Movie Camera), another one of the key texts in the development of cinematic language as we understand it (Good Burger), and a recent key text in the development of cinematic language as we understand it (The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee).
