Classic movie stars dominate this week, with three Kino box sets on important old-Hollywood stars and Film Movement’s release of Shanghai Triad, part of one of the great director-star collaborations, Zhang Yimou and Gong Li. But all of them pale in comparison to the pure magnetic star power of John Krasinski as Jack Ryan, in a season of television (now available on Blu-Ray) that The Solute calls “a TV series made for the Trump administration”.
