You were creeped out by him in Gone Girl, you were even more creeped out by him in The Smurfs, and you were dazzled by him in pretty much anything else he’s ever done (including Gone Girl, although as for his role in Smurfs, I can take it or leave it).
But now Neil Patrick Harris is undertaking perhaps his greatest task yet; hosting the Oscars. Yep, according to Deadline, Neil Patrick Harris will be at the center of the next Academy Awards ceremony!
The versatile host will once again lend his chops as a entertainer to this mega-huge television event. In the past, Harris has hosted the Emmy’s and Tony’s, but this could be the his biggest opportunity to demonstrate his awesomeness yet. The timing is especially great for this since Gone Girl, a movie he had a fantastic role in, could be up for Best Picture.
Needless to say, as for me, I’m extremely excited. Oscar hosts in the past few years have ranged from good (I liked Seth Macfarlane, and yes, I know that opinion just made me a legion of enemies) and the abysmal (We never speak of Franco and Hathaway hosting). But there’s a great chance this ceremony could really be something special. Harris has plenty of experience being a great and funny entertainer, and he’s also a pretty wonderful actor. One things for certain, this forthcoming Academy Awards ceremony is gonna be legend-wait for it!-dary!!!
