When you decide to come out to your family, you expect a variety of reactions. You can imagine your family yelling at you, sometimes you can imagine them laughing and smiling, the more melodramatic of us think about them having a heart attack on the spot. There’s always the famous fainting, but it’s never been accentuated by circumstances such as these.
Hi, It’s Your Mother is a surreal look at suburban life through a cracked lens of claymation, modern pressures, and possibly a handful of mood enhancers. On top of that is coming out, bedroom sex, and generational anxiety. “Will you visit me when I’m old?” is given multitudes here.
