Just in time for Michael Mann’s triumphant return to theaters, Arrow gives us a 4K of what seemed like it might be a typically idiosyncratic final film for Mann, Blackhat. Who knows how that grainy digital Mann footage will fare under the 4K microscope, but the big news is that this marks the first home-video release of Mann’s director’s cut, where his usual post-facto meddling actually results in a more coherent, less ragged picture.
